Ways to Give
A number of assets may be used to provide gifts in support of Boone County Health Center through the Foundation. A variety of methods allows donors to choose the most appropriate and effective method which will best suit their individual circumstances and interests.
Gifts of Cash
A vast majority of gifts to the Boone County Health Center Foundation are in the form of cash, usually by check. Donors are asked to make the check to Boone County Health Center Foundation. A note accompanying your check can offer you an opportunity to designate your gift for a specific department, program or project if particular interest to you. Or you may leave your gift undesignated, allowing the Board of Directors the flexibility to use your gift in the area of greatest need.
Gifts of Securities
The use of appreciated securities (stock, mutual funds, etc.) as a giving source is a popular alternative to cash giving. With certain limitations, you can deduct the full, fair market value to long-term appreciated appreciated securities. Thus, you can give away capital gains and avoid the tax. Gifts of Real Estate
Almost any type of real property; a personal residence, a farm, a vacation home, a commercial building or an undeveloped parcel of land can constitute a gift. As with other appreciated property, a gift of real estate can unlock the full value of your property and offer specific economic advantages while providing lasting benefits to Boone County Health Center. The BCHC Foundation carefully evaluates each potential gift to ensure it will enhance the Health Center’s mission.
Planned or Deferred Giving
Simply put, a planned gift is one that benefits the Boone County Health Center Foundation while at the same time allows for the fulfillment of an individual’s personal financial goals. In addition to providing future support to Boone County Health Center, a properly planned gift may; provide an income for life; and reduce or eliminate gift and estate taxes. Several ways to offer planned or deferred gift are: Life insurance, Charitable Trusts, Gift annuities, or by Bequest (Will) .
