Car Seat Safety

Putting a child’s safety seat into a vehicle can be very confusing. Doing it properly is important for your child’s safety!

Here at Boone County Health Center, we are committed to the safety of your children. Nicole Levander, a Certified Car Seat Technician, can give hands-on help by physically showing you the proper way to install your child’s car seat and answering any questions. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call Nicole at 402.395.3165. As an added service, all parents who deliver at BCHC receive free training and a car seat inspection to ensure their baby is restrained properly before leaving the hospital.

Car seats and boosters provide protection for infants and children in a crash, yet car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13. That’s why it’s so important to choose and use the right car seat correctly every time your child is in the car.

  • 325 children under 5 are saved by car seats in one year. Source
