Diabetes Self Management Education

Diabetic Self-Management Education (DSME), certified by the American Dietetic Association, is a service offered by the Health Center. It gives patients the tools they need to better manage their diabetes in order to reduce complications and live longer, healthier lives. For diabetic patients, the DSME Program at Boone County Health Center is the cornerstone of care.

Services Include:

  • Monitoring blood glucose and using results to improve control
  • Preventing, detecting, and treating complications
  • Goal setting and problem solving
  • Managing upset feelings and frustration related to diabetes

Diabetic Foot Clinic

Taking care of your feet can be hard and, when neglected, can lead to difficulty walking, foot pain, and skin breakdown. The foot care program is managed by a certified foot and nail care nurse who will help manage those with diabetes and other foot care needs.
